Socket Inspection / Replacement
If the lamp does not turn on, the socket or fuse may need to be checked or replaced.
Over time, repeated exposure to heat and normal use can cause the socket contacts to wear or deteriorate. Inspect the area inside the socket where it makes contact with the bulb.
If the contact area is blackened, burned, worn, or visibly damaged, the socket should be replaced. Also inspect the bottom contact of the bulb. If it is blackened or the soldered contact is damaged, discontinue use of that bulb.
